Looking again at Hinduism

A World Mysteries Post led me to reminisce about a summer seminar in World Religions I attended in High School. Which was a launching point to my interest in the mysteries.

An excerpt from the POST:
"The whole universe came into existence from Brahman the Seed. Brahman is not only the principle and creator of all there is, but is also the sum totality of the universe and its phenomena."

At the Seminar long ago I visited a Hindu Temple and the priest explained it to me this way (rough quotation from memory) "In order for there to be a creation, you must have a material, a substance and a creative intelligence to form it. The idea of Brahman is that the substance and the intelligence are one and the same."

Many religions incorporate a similar idea, however it is not explained so precisely in any of them. I feel that a combination of exploring ancient writings/beliefs and thinking critically about the present world around us will produce a greater understanding of being.

I have often meditated on these thoughts while observing the work of Alex Grey. At this time I have no resolutions, observations or dictations to share about this topic, I just felt the need to share it for anyone who might want to learn more.
