Why I question everything.

I have a habit of thinking deeply about everyday things which are so easily looked past. Questioning the cause, the manner, the reality. Some perceive my observations as complaints since our current social paradigm rests on judgment and control.  Emerging through the machine of the status quo are rants of frustration and exacerbated reactions to those.  We see these escalations run rampant online all the time.  These days I speak matter of factly, sharing an observation without judgment. I myself have associated someone else's words to my own experience rather then recognize it comes from another persons perspective and I must review the comment in a detached manner, come to my own conclusion, then share my own perspective.  Not react to how the persons comment may have reflected a previous encounter, conversation or experience with others.  I'm often trying to explain where I am coming from and end up misunderstood it seems.  However I digress, communication is a topic for another day.

Today I want to discuss applying philosophy to all areas of life. I approach each though and activity and state of mind with curiosity.  For example; what is a home? Why am I in this one, what is the purpose of cleaning or organizing, or  moving or building? Over time new experiences add to the richness of my observations, creating more dynamics in the answer, adding more complexity to the concept and generating new connections to other thoughts and ideas.  Once upon a time deep in an LSD session I was alleviating myself in the bathroom and noticed my cats litter box and became aware that we are all like our pets living in little boxes within boxes within fences. Peeing in our specified corners, filling our cages with toys.  As a recent nomad I have gained further insight to this concern.  A home should not be a status symbol as the current machine dictates, it shouldn't require indentured servitude to the work force in order to occupy.  A home at it's core truth is a sacred space. A place you create for safety and comfort within which to sleep, commune with family, keeping it clean and in good repair is how one honors this sacred space.  This applies whether your space is created in a cave, a tent, a vehicle, an RV, trailer, apartment, standard house or any variation. What it comes down to is asking yourself. Why are you here, in this moment, in this place? Why have you chosen this home, why have you made it this way, what purpose does it serve in your life.

When I asked myself these questions years ago I realized I had wanted a space within which to create, to build my skills and manifest my art. However my home wasn't serving that purpose.  I also enjoyed playing host so it did successfully allow me to help my friends on hard times. Yet it was costing most of my income to cover mortgage and utilities, leaving me little to make much else happen, and little time to work on my art I acquired the space for in the first place.  Forcing me to look down a dark tunnel of decades of work in exchange for no progress, just spinning in place distracted in the to-do's of adult life in the current era.  Now that I have discarded the structure that wasn't working for me, I have the potential to construct my own sacred space one day, to ensure it coincides with the life I want to create rather then conflict.  I recommend to everyone to take a closer look today at something simple and daily in your life.  It could be your home, your job, your attitude, your pile of hoarded stuff, whatever it is, ask yourself what is it really, why is it in your life, is it's meaning and purpose consistent with your own? I have found that questioning all things leads me to live with a greater sense of awareness, especially awareness of self.

A quick take on Astrology; separating science from dogma.

Studying the stars, planets and cosmos has been a human undertaking since long before our known written records. If you look at a long enough timeline you'll find the procession of the equinoxes. A roughly 26,000 year cycle our planet goes through in the rotation of it's axis of spin. Understanding this clockwork of cycles and orbits helps us to understand the universe and our place in it. If we look at the closest celestial body to us, we see how the precise orbit of the moon and it's spin push and pull on the tide. Scientists measure the bursts of energy from the sun which bends and flexes our atmosphere and can interfere with our radio waves. For me this is enough evidence that celestial bodies do play a role in the energy patterns and cycles we experience and navigate through. However as Bill Nye the Science guy so cleverly pointed out, the procession of the equinoxes has caused the constellations that rise to be in a different place of the sky then they were 2,000 years ago when the current zodiacs were labeled and indoctrinated. The Dogma of the Horoscopes and Zodiac is well excepted, possibly because some minor details of influence are correct(since the planets affect us all), however there is a lot of speculation and a lack of depth of understanding when you simply look at a date of birth. It's simply not enough to provide any real insight, one would do better to consult a proper tool for looking within yourself for decisions such as the Tarot or I Ching. When it comes to understanding others, I find the Enneagram an effective method, as it is recognized that each person may contain elements of the other personality types. Just as each Chakra contains traces of light from the others in the system. While many lump all of Astrology into the zone of pseudo-science I think it's important to make a distinction between the research/awareness of the positions of the planets and their impact on us all, with the simplification of personality and assumed influences assigned by birthdate. The frivolous horoscopes can be fun to read and some like free will astrology provide a concept to ponder. However the real science and research is in the overall affect of our neighbor planets on our entire world. This is where it starts to get interesting, and where we might be able to find some truth amongst all the assumptions of the past.

Outside of fear and ignorance.

I often see debates raging online in regards to questionable situations that hold a potential for conspiracy. This also flares up with many new technologies. The views and opinions can range from a neutral consideration to an extreme speculation in either direction. What I would like to discuss is not any one of these specific theories, events or technologies but rather the approach to these considerations.

First lets talk about "them".  Sometimes this gets used as shorthand for "that group that runs everything" or occasionally it's just a reference to a previous modifier that is lost further back in the conversation.  Whether you think no conspiracies exist or you name a political group or an association as the antagonist or call it the shadow government, the military industrial complex the examples go on, let's give it due consideration.  The theory that some small group is manipulating the world is given a disproportionate amount of dramatic visualization. The smoking man of the X files comes to mind. The facts we can assess that might inspire this is the small percentage of the population that holds the largest amounts of wealth and resources. However this is still millions of people. It's not 12 guys sitting around a table, or a frat party of politicians and family boys.  Yet the people of the world recognize that it's a few of us living it up off the hard work of the rest of us. Let's not get divided though! That is a distinction we want to avoid. We must remember that these people are human and live in the human condition. So let's speculate a little if we were rich, and wanted to make sure the wealth stays in the family and doesn't dissipate. We'd raise our kids to handle things the way we did, attempting to maintain the status quot.  This isn't inherently good or bad, but it will influence how these people may choose to live their lives and manage their plentiful resources, or others resources if they have access. Our government operates in this slow moving way, carefully inching along taking a lot of external stimulation to generate change.

A desire to be part of this change is one reason a lot of people begin researching how our systems are operating to see if it's really helping or hindering the general public. The truth in plain sight dug up by these seekers then enters the telephone game of I heard, she said, he said, and personal speculations that could end up with wild tabloid worthy tales being passed around. Many oppose these theories as preposterous, that it's not possible for anything so impacting could be allowed to happen. I personally think there are much fewer conspiracies and much more blatant manipulations that are easy to identify if one finds the right place to look. That being said to really know all the laws and control systems we are submitted to would take half a lifetime to learn, and are therefore seemly excessive, but I digress.  The rich spectrum of people and places that make and change and shape the world include us, if we put ourselves outside of those we think have all the power, then we are mentally handing over that power and not taking responsibility for our own being and our own impact.

Down to the matter at hand. The double edged sword of the hot topics of these systems and technologies that are feared or purposefully ignored. I liken these to a kitchen knife. It's useful it's handy, you can make great use if it in a variety of ways, however in 'the wrong hands' it could be used to hurt or maim or kill you. In this metaphor there is latent potential in the thing itself to be used to abuse rather then to improve. A tool can also be a weapon. Since these many people in places of power and wealth are not one consciousness nor one nationally or political body or even one family, there is not likely a direct malicious intent of each person, but more a lack of concern, an ease with which to write off people as numbers out of habit. Though this can create a space in which businesses or other collections of people could cause harm by paying greater attention to a bottom line then to their affect on the world. Instead of feeling victimized by these situations we can rather recognize that progress means debate and generation of new ideas, getting rid of that which is identified as harmful or is no longer working.

It's true some theories that there is noting to worry about may hold true, and some theories of sinister intent could also hold true in other situations.  What we can know and can do, is to be vigilant of the latent potential for poor choices to be made for the use or misuse of our creations that are intended to improve the world. I'm being vague here on purpose, there are boundless examples of inventions and systems and organizational entities.  Community and transparency is our access to information, clarification and confirmation.  Being involved can shed light in areas of questionable circumstance. Even if it's colored or obscured light (here I go with the metaphors again) it's still shedding light on something that may be hidden and need revealed and then may need restructured or torn down and rebuilt.  It is time to question what is going on around us, in our neighborhoods, in our regions, in our countries and around the world.  To be willing to make conscious decisions to shape your life and the life of those around you. If you see that a law, a product, a technology, a political or military action, or anything else has the potential to be harmful to yourself, your family, or your community, you can speak up, you can team up with others, and you can demand visibility and oversight or even change. Recognize the latent potential within and know that with appropriate action we can make the best use of and improve upon the systems, inventions and resources we have in our lives today.

Holy Zombies Batman!

Don't be a mindless zombie. Wake up!

"Ancient philosophers stated that whatever we see when awake is death; and what we see when asleep is a dream. Plato is said to have revealed this identical view to Cebes, and commenting on the beliefs held by the practitioners of the Mysteries, the great expositor of Greek thought Thomas Taylor wrote that the Greeks 'believed that human souls were confined in the body as in a prison, a condition which was denominated by genesis or generation; from which Dionysus would liberate them. This generation  which linked the soul to the body, was supposed to be a kind of death to the higher form of life. Evil is inherent to this condition the soul dwelling in the body as in a prison or a grave....' Even the aforementioned egregious involvement of ancient Egyptian religion with the idea of death has been reinterpreted by some scholars as referring, not primarily to the souls who have departed their earthly habitation, but to the living, who philosophically, or as one might say today psychologically, might be referred to as dead. There is much indication of the possibility amounting to near fact that the three pivotal words death, the dead and to die bore the same esoteric meaning and reference in Gnostic and other Christian scriptures as they did in the Greek philosophical discourses and in the Egyptian books of old. C. G. Jung, a man as deeply versed in classical literature as he was in Gnostic spirituality, was aware of this meaning of death, and the dead to him undoubtedly meant the unregenerate hyletic representatives of humanity, who by identifying with physicality to the exclusion of their psychic and pneumatic natures, have allowed physical life to render them spiritually dead."

History is Wrong.

When I was younger I learned quickly that the information being fed to me in school textbooks was often missing important facts and blatantly overlooking information that was readily available elsewhere. This disillusion with the established curriculum led me to eagerly seek self taught knowledge and I have been a heavy non fiction reader ever since.

Recently I have been reading "Fingerprints of the Gods" by Graham Hancock.

Originating evidence, ancient maps based on earlier sources, there are many more pieces of evidence details along the way and the end result is that Antarctica is a likely place the clues may be hiding.

There is also much geological evidence that the Arctic was previously tropical. It makes me ponder, what if what we call the last "Ice Age" was actually just the period of time where the north and south poles resided in a different location on the globe? This could be part of a magnetic shift such as the polar shift hypothesis or it could be a shift in the crust of the earth from some version of crust displacement.  In addition to all this we have continetal drift and techtonic plates. Basically the surface of the earth goes through changes, the polar points of the earth also may go through changes and this movement could have buried a much longer history of civilization then we could begin to even grasp.

I know there have been decades of research here, wanted to see what information has been allowed to go public. Found this thread http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread537840/pg1 which begins with lots of data sharing and ends in showing the same old debate between the die hard "Current scientific claims are all fact!" and the people who reiterate pieces of the results of research based theories that are misconstrued as "made up" when the author clearly defined what was fact and what was theory.  I honestly think those responses should be more thorough for those who haven't made a decision to accept the resulting conclusions of others.

What everyone seems to be missing is there is a large misconception of fact, and people who don't understand that evidence is used to create theories and the while the theory may be wrong the evidence does not change. The "fact" is a conclusion that was made by a man based on the evidence. It also takes many men, lots of printers and teachers to spread these "facts" that were once asserted by one man to the minds of many as history.

A last point to the extremity of opinion that people tend to immediately approve or disapprove a theory is the mere mention of aliens. As soon as people say, it was aliens, others say, you are all crazy and refuse to listen. Now let's take aliens out of the equation, there is ample evidence that our history goes back much further then accepted and that our ancestors were brilliant, and may I say made much better technological choices then we have. They never even tried the combustion engine nor would think to make anything like it. Before jumping to conclusion whether this early civilization was from another planet or another part of our planet (or hey why  not both) let's just get the confirmation that they existed at all out of the way, then further research can speculate on their origins.

There seem to be different ways that people approach a decision on what is true. In the end we have to internally ask ourselves and cannot rely on another to tell us.

God by any other name...

Inspired by this article.
I have long adored the idea of using mathematics to express the creation that so many religions claimed to be the authority on. When I discovered fractals I thought, here it is, the source of natures beauty and function. Then when I finally delved deep enough into Sacred Geometry I knew I truly found the key to understanding existence. However having the key isn't enough, I am still learning to use it in an effort to have a more profound effect on the world around me.
Yet mathematics isn't what I want to discuss today. Rather I want to speak of my never ending battle with the use of the word, GOD. I was raised United Methodist and because of this I have a strong aversion to this term as it comes with all kinds of unwanted and unnecessary associations such as personifying the essence of existence, and as a man at that. Using the name to demand ones own view as the end all say all and justification for choices that are wholly their own.
No I'm not fond of it, because if I say God when I'm describing the all and the one, the unifying essence that is impossible to describe in words the listener would assign their own collection of interpretations such as prayer answerer, angry, controls, non existent, etc. I prefer to use the terms 'the universe' or 'existence' when talking about the 'higher power' and I don't even like higher power as that indicates it is separate or above us and has control when the reality is that it is both within and around us and we are in control. Collectively we and all other sentient beings get to experience 'god' which is the purpose of creation, to be.

One Snake or Two?

While designing my Strange Music tattoo I was curious about the source of a snake entwined on a dagger or sword. I knew of the Caduceus that is used in many Medical professions these days and did a quick Wikipedia search. Here I found that the caduceus "represents Hermes (or the Roman Mercury), and by extension trades, occupations or undertakings associated with the god. In later Antiquity the caduceus provided the basis for the astrological symbol representing the planet Mercury. Thus, through its use in astrology and alchemy, it has come to denote the elemental metal of the same name." Also in Roman mythology it "was often depicted being carried in the left hand of Mercury, the messenger of the gods, guide of the dead and protector of merchants, shepherds, gamblers, liars, and thieves." This has nothing to do with medicine! It also is very specifically two snakes and sometimes wings.

Wikipedia also directed me to the correct medical symbol for the Greek god Asclepius, a deity associated with healing and medicine. One snake encircling a rod. Now every time I hear the Caduceus associated to Asclepius or Asklepios I cringe and begin to question how thorough they did their research. Still I was curious about the use of the snake around a dagger or sword rather then a rod. It seems to be a more recent invention, I haven't come across any use of it in mythologies or otherwise. This leads me to think that it may be a combination of sorts and I can envision it as such. The rod of Asclepius with the symbolism of a sword or dagger interjected into it.  There doesn't seem to be much antiquated symbolism with daggers aside from very specific models. In ritual magick the Athame is a consecrated ceremonial knife symbolizing the element of air or fire. In my mind air and fire work together to intensify energy and change. In a way I almost come to think of my snake entwining the dagger to be a symbol of the energy and movement toward change and healing, but wait! I haven't included the bat! For as any Strange Music fan knows the Snake and Bat go together. This dagger has a handle in the shape of a bat, creatures that are seen as symbolizing luck and fortune.  Am I using the elements of air and fire to heal myself with a touch of luck? Perhaps.

Guns and glory

I think its sadly funny that people stereotype all supporters of the 2nd amendment as white supremicist, anti-abortion, super christian republicans. Well I support gun ownership and safety just as I support personal responsibility and choice. I am a bisexual who disagrees with ever aborting from my own body but let another woman do as she pleases (if she doesn't want to care for it, its better off). I am not republican nor any party. I do not subscribed to the orchestrated beliefs of a political sect nor a pastor, nor anyone. To find the answers I look inward to identify what rings as true or false within my soul. I would like to see more people making decisions based on inner truth rather then 'the bible says' or 'my parents taught me' or 'i saw t on tv'. The ease of conditioning the population is a matter of debate and psychological understanding. However I have faith enough of us can wake up and create change and refuse to give up or give in to social sheep herding. Don't be the lamb to the slaughter, be the wild independent beast who takes care of your own.

The collective unconscious and me

From a young age most information I was taught in school and in church didn't sit right with me. I often found myself envisioning things existed and operated much differently. As I have grown and followed self directed research I have managed to come across numerous articles and passages in books that lay out the precise words I couldn't find to describe these theories in my head. At one point I wondered if everything I've come to know was already figured out by someone else. Then I discovered the collective unconscious, and I relaxed in knowing many of us are becoming aware together. I do still believe some great insight followed by action on my part will allow me to influence the world around me in a positive awakening manner. It will likely be visual since my words cannot describe the esoteric visons I would like to convey. I do not have to stand apart or above, I can merely be a conscious active member of the community of higher beings that are transcending at the dawn of the new era. That daybreak is happening now.

‎"...it is hard to ignore the fact that major changes are indeed underway all over the world, seemingly directing our attention to the idea that a “paradigm shift” of some kind is taking place.

But just what is it that we are shifting into…and away from? To put it simply, we are shifting away from old, fear-based habits and imagining a whole new reality for ourselves - a reality based on hope rather than despair, of abundance rather than lack, of peace rather than war, of contentedness rather than yearning, and of connectedness rather than separation....

...This shift into being transparent (where we no longer try to hide who and what we really are) is a key element of the Aquarian philosophy. When we no longer mask our true feelings and desires, humanity as a race will literally "jump" into a type of collective consciousness that, at present, can barely be imagined."

The President Who Told the Truth

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/VVI5t6eIrt4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

“This video contains one of the most awesome, inspiring and truthful speeches ever given by a president. This very speech must have caused a lot of panic among the higher echelons of the elite. Kennedy had been in office for only 3 months and he was already taking unprecedented steps to empower ordinary people. Kennedy did more for civil rights than any other president since Abraham Lincoln. Kennedy was a big supporter of the constitution, he was against the tyranny of big government. He wanted to withdraw US troops from Vietnam. He wanted to abolish the CIA and Federal Reserve, and he warned us of criminal elements within the establishment who wanted to cease an opportunity to restrict peoples freedoms. He urged the press to be more open and to fulfill its obligation to inform the American people about pertinent facts. And on top of that he spoke openly and candidly about the dangers of secret societies and their influence over the way government works. So is it any wonder that he was dramatically silenced only two years after making this epic speech?

Internet Censorship is the next step to slavery

I had a feeling this might come to pass in my lifetime.  Something always resonated in me at the thought of how I was born in 1984 and the book felt too real, the metaphor of how we were to progress into a system such as the one they have been implementing for ten years, probably planning for it much longer.

We live in a closing society. We are now having our ability to view and read about the greater world outside of our country ripped away from us.  Now they are preparing to blind us before they start slaughtering all the protesters, yes I said it, they will be making war against their own people in order to stay in power, but in America the PEOPLE are supposed to have the power, the government is supposed to do what WE say not whatever they want.  We have let them get away with making all the decisions for generations, so distracted by material things and the false dawn of an "American Dream."  If we want to see the true dawn of a new paradigm we will have to stand up and fight for our lives.

The Art of Musical Maintenance

This past week I attended my first, though the Goodfoot's 8th Annual, Art of Musical Maintenance. It was an amazing experience for an artist like myself who is dedicated to Music.  My work on show flyers has been very limited, only two ever.  At this show I realized screen print is truly the medium of concert poster art.  I have been printing on shirts for so long that I haven't even thought of creating art for a layered print in years.  Here are some of the inspiring images I came across that night.
