Symbols of Change

The surrealists called it automatic writing. I call it divination... it could more accurately be described as sublimation. The transfer of a concept which is beyond understanding and bringing it into the material world. A representation of the mysteries. This process is visually depicted in Alex Grey's painting pictured here.

Using this process I have generated a number of patterns, pictographs, and symbols. During my time at PNCA I began to identify some symbols that became repetitive. The one most closely tied to the ideas I was working with was the Evolve symbol which includes the delta of change, the spiral of spirituality and an arrow for forward movement.  The use of deltas and arrows are frequent in many of my pictographs. I find them comforting in a spiritual way like I do sacred geometry.
